The NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament is a 64-team end-of-season tournament that includes conference winners, and other high-performing teams, from approximately 30 college conferences across the nation. The tournament currently has 3 stages.

Regionals: 16 regional sites are awarded with 4 schools assigned to each. Teams play a mini-tournament to determine a winner, who will move to the next round. The calibre of each regional is distributed evenly so that a team from each seed range (1-16,17-32,33-48,49-64) is included and is often based on geography.
Super-Regionals: 8 sites with 2 schools each playing a best of 3. The 8 winners advance to the College World Series in Omaha.
College World Series: 8 schools play a 2-game knockout tournament in Omaha to determine a national champion.
