Independent League Baseball

Independent League baseball data is available since 1993. Indy League baseball is considered to be professional, the players get paid, but the teams are unaffiliated with Major League Baseball and the players are still considered to be available to MLB teams. Indy Leagues, though with less high-end talent, are considered to be truly competitive where teams can focus on winning and not have to consider player development like the affiliated Minor Leagues.

Though some players continue to play in the Indy Leagues to draw attention to themselves from the Majors, many continue to play Indy ball for the love of the game.
