 Trivia and Player Notes
Frank was one of the few pitchers to ever go from a power throwing southpaw to a finesse crafty lefty in his career. In the early mid 70's Tanana combined with Nolan Ryan to form one of the most lethal 1-2 punches in the game. For 3 seasons (1975-1977), Tanana and Ryan were near the leaderboard in several pitching categories. Tanana hurt his arm in 78 and had to re-invent his game. He came back in 1980 and had moderate success as a completely different pitcher than Angels fans were used to. However, in 1983-93 Frank became one of the craftiest veterans in the game and retired with 240 wins against 236 losses. It would be hard to find another lefty that had this much of a career turnaround.

Notes: Played in 3 All-Star games during his career (1976-1978)
