Trivia and Player Notes

Rossy was a late round draft pick in 1985 after playing at Purdue for 8 years before getting a cup of coffee with the Braves in 1991 at the age of 27. He struck out in his only plate appearance but the next year with Kansas City, he managed to get in 149 at bats and hit .215.

Rossy had very little power early in his career and decreasing speed through his seasons in the minors and his most valuable asset was his ability to work a count and walk his way on base. Though he had more success at being selective in the minors, he still managed to walk at least once every 10 at bats in the majors.

He ended up playing 147 games in the majors and his time on the big league roster was as a utility infielder. He resurfaced in Seattle in 1998 after 4.5 seasons at AAA with various organizations and he bowed out after the 1999 season at the age of 35.

He never put up eye catching numbers but he made the most of a baseball career without any dominant talent.
