Claim to Fame: The Streak.

Cal Ripken will forever be known for "The Streak" and for being "The Iron Man" after playing in 2,632 consecutive games. Most people will overlook the fact that Ripken also won MVP Awards, gold gloves, a World Series and played in more than 15 all-star games during his career. Not to mention the 431 career home runs and 3184 hits.

In 2001, the Baltimore Orioles retired Ripken's uniform number (#8).
