Trivia and Player Notes

Al Hiker Moran's career started in 1934 and in 1935 trained with Babe Ruth and the Boston Braves at Al Lang Field St. Petersburg, Flordia. From there hiker played with the Montreal Royals in AAA baseball. In 1938 while with the Hartford Laurals was brought up to pitch for Boston Bees in the major leagues and stayed through 1939. The following year 1940 he played with the Kansas City Blues and became and remained very good friends with Phil Rizzuto. From there hiker played with the Arkansas Travelers of the southeastern assc. where he won 41 games in two years a league record (at the time). All together Al played 11 years of professional baseball. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 86 in Saratoga Springs,New York.
