 Trivia and Player Notes
In 1992, Hernandez made a memorable guest appearance on the television show Seinfeld in a 2-part episode called "The Boyfriend". Hernandez plays himself and becomes both friends with Jerry and the boyfriend of Elaine while the two fight over who gets to spend more time with Keith. The episode contained a memorable segment in which Jerry's neighbors Kramer and Newman recount their memory of Keith Hernandez allegedly spitting on them after a Mets loss in an important game in 1980s in which Hernandez made a key error. In the scene, played back as if part of the JFK assassination, Kramer and Newman pass by Hernandez outside Shea Stadium and they say "Nice game, pretty boy." They then claim to be hit with spit. Jerry doesn't buy the allegation and replays the moment in his living room by showing how the spit would have had to have travelled to do what they claimed. "That my friends is one magic loogie" Seinfeld would say. The entire scene satired the movie JFK and later in the episode, Hernandez reveals that it was actually Mets pitcher Roger McDowell who was not too far away from the scene.

Another memorable scene during the episode has Hernandez hitting on Elaine in a bar and bragging about how we will "round second base" with her at 11pm that night. "...well, I'd watch the third base coach if I were you" Elaine warned, " 'cause I don't think he's waving you in."

Notes: Member of the World Series Champion St. Louis Cardinals in 1982 and the New York Mets in 1986....Played in 5 All-Star games during his career (1979-1980, 1984, 1986-1987)
