Player Inclusion Rules | TBC Help | |
| There are more than 98,000 player pages on The Baseball Cube. A popular question from fans and former players is what are the parameters for player inclusion. By extension, inclusion on alumni pages is based on a player's inclusion on the site. For a player to be included, he must meet at least one of the following requirements: Major Leaguers: All players who have played between 1903 and the present day are included. 1903 was selected as an arbitrary starting point. Minor Leaguers: All players for all affiliated minor league teams since 1978 are included. This includes all levels and leagues that were classified as Rookie, A, AA or AAA. Minor League statistics prior to 1978 are sparse and generally only included for some major leaguers. Independent Leagues: Most indy players since 2003 are included on the site. There are some players with statistics before 2003 but they are generally players who have played minor league or major league ball. College Players: NCAA Division I college players for all schools are included on the site since 2002. Many schools have data prior to 2001 based on availability of the stats for the schools at the time of launch but its the exception, not the rule. Drafted Players: The Baseball Cube has a complete historical record of the major league draft and every player ever drafted will have a profile whether he made it to the pros or if he never played another game. Players not meeting at least one of the criteria above will not be included in the database. Here are some situations where players are not included: • Played last season in the minors before 1978 and was never chosen in the entry draft. • Played independent league baseball before 2003 • Played in the majors exclusively before 1903 • Was on a minor league roster but never played in a game and was not drafted • Signed as a free agent but never played in any of the above leagues. • How do I get included in the databaseWe get many questions on how a player can be added to the database. To be considered for inclusion a player should have played at least College baseball or have been signed by a major or minor league team. There is a $10 fee for inclusion which is similar to a lifetime page sponsorship. The purpose of the fee is to control the number of requests we receive and to maintain the integrity of the database. We will research the validity of each submitted player.1. Payment through PayPal ($10)2. Submit Player Information through the form belowPlease remember to include as much information and stats for the player as possible. We'll contact you with information on how to post your page sponsorship information.• Player Name • Birth date and place • Height and playing weight. Bats/Throws • High School and College(s) attended • Seasons/teams/leagues • Stats (if available) |
