The formula is based on a simple(ish) algorithm that compares the following statistics:
Games At Bats Runs Hits Doubles Triples Home Runs Runs Batted In Stolen Bases Walks Strikeouts Hit by PitchFor each player, for each stat, the algorithm creates a percentage difference between the two players and takes an average of all the differences resulting in a final score on 100. Two players with exact statistics would have a score of 100. The formula is only available for batters at this point.
The algorithm is derived by TBC and is intended to be a guide to help track a player's career trajectory for his entire career and at the different ages.
It is possible that over time, the formula will be tweaked and a pitching version will be added.
