The TBC Newsletter
will keep you periodically up-to-date on what is happening at The Baseball Cube.
Pro teams call their field leader a Manager while College Teams use the term Head Coach. In fact, most amateur baseball teams use this term. A manager would be a student or parent. The Head Coach managers the players and a coaching staff. In College, he coordinates his paid coaches and volunteers as well as oversees recruiting activities for his future teams.
TBC tracks coaching staffs for all Division I teams since 2002 and so there should be a Head Coach listed for each team. A player profile is created for each of these coaches. If any of these coaches, or any other person already in the TBC database has been a coach of a non-Division I team or any other team outside of Division I 2002-present, he may or may not have the job listed.
Also note that for most non-Division I schools and pre-2002 Div I schools, we do track Head Coaches but they won't necessarily be linked to a player page. For example, if the head coach of a California Community College does not have a profile on the site, his name will appear next to team as Head Coach but he won't have his own page nor will all his coaching jobs be linked together.
